The End of the World - Or just going on Survival

Well, let me start by telling you who i am, my name is Jason and im from Norway. I am 28 years old, and my first experience with survival trips and survival skills where when my dad took me into the woods for a 3 week trip at the age of 5.

Without any luxury gear. But WITH the gear that you need to survive, not matter if its for fun or in a serious situation.

Just a knife, and the basic survival gear, we managed to stay in the woods for 3 weeks: and life haha. Ok, thats not as easy as it was. My dad was in the army training survival skills to soldiers, and after retiring he started to take adventurers and people on a holiday into the woods for 3 days, learning them how to camp and survive.

I got the hang of it, and i took over his "company" 3 years ago. I even managed to start a little store where i gather and collect all the best survival gear you need.

But survivalling is not just a big adventure. With all the natural and commercial disasters going on, you need to make sure you can protect your family. Keep them alive, be that hero that knows what to do and has the right gear to survive anything and everything. Hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, oilspils, fires, landslides. Ever watch the news? Then you will know how more and more of these disasters happen.

I hope i can teach you some of the basics here, right on this website. So you will think of me, the day you safe YOUR family.

Or off course, just have a fun survival trip, and come back alive.

What basic surival gear do you need?

Because i hate reading myself, and its always more fun to just go out and do it, i will keep it short.
There is a big difference between going on a survival trip, and getting survival equipment for disasters like hurricanes or "the end of the world" scenarios.

Don't be fooled. I will be giving you info on both. I am pretty serious about something fun as a survival trip, and even more serious about being prepared for huge disasters.

Basic survival gear: All Purposes!

Basics first. The most important gear you will put in your "bug bag" also known as "bug out bag". This bag will get you started for the first 3 days, without having to rely on ANYONE else.

This "bag" contains all the gear you need. No matter if its for going on a survival trip or when you get hit by a major disaster like a flood, hurricane, landslide, tornado, power blackout, freezing weather.

My advise: get one ready today. You have seen the weather, the recent climate changes, the natural disasters, the commercial disasters like BP's oil spill. Want to be the last one to get into a survival store and hear "sorry sir, we are all out on those"?

You can use (read: will NEED) this bag for both purposes.

This is what you need to have in it:

1. Water:
Water is very important. But you cannot just drive to walmart and buy a lot of bottles. The key thing is to know the ways and have the survival gear to GET your water without stores.

First we will need a way to store water when we find it. Bottles are to big, you need at least 1-3 litres of water a day. So you will need something you can easily fill.

Interesting introduction to survival at such an early age. It seems fitting to Welcome you to HP after 45 hours. I intended to post this in the Fan Mail but it seems I'd been gone too long not to find it. Thanks for stopping by at my site.
